Biography
Yorai Wardi received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer
Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley in 1982. While at Berkeley
he conducted research in nondifferentiable optimization and developed algorithms
for optimal design of control systems and flexible structures.
From 1982 to 1984 Dr. Wardi was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Telephone
Laboratories, and following the divestiture of the Bell System, at Bell Communications
Research. His assignments there involved protocol planning for telecommunications
networks.
Dr. Wardi joined the ECE faculty in 1984. He spent the 1987-1988 academic year
visiting Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, Department of Industrial
Engineering and Management.
